Our burgee (private signal) is designed around the astronomical symbol for the planet Jupiter. It contains two elements. First, the crescent with a horizontal line, the Greek letter zeta standing for Zeus, the Greek counterpart of Roman Jupiter. The second element is the cross, symbolic of balance, and a meeting of ideas. Combined, the device represents both the eagle (the sacred animal of Jupiter) and the thunderbolt (his mythological weapon). Adding to the symbolism of balance is the fact that Jupiter lies in the center of the line of orbital planets. Our burgee design is by friend and  graphic designer Curt Carpenter of Aspen, Colorado.
